PinPulse may collect precise location data (GPS) only when:
- the user explicitly enables location sharing, and
- the background service is active.
Location data is used solely to transmit your current position to the server endpoint configured by you.
PinPulse does not collect location data when:
- location sharing is turned off
- the service is stopped
- the app is inactive
🧑 User-Provided Information
The app may store locally:
- user nickname
- pin color
- configuration settings (sync interval, fencing radius, background runtime)
This information is not shared automatically and is only transmitted if included in your configured server requests.
2. How We Use Information
Collected data is used only to:
- send your location updates to your configured API endpoint
- display your position on maps (mobile and web)
- enable user-requested features (geofence visualization, pin control)
PinPulse does not:
- track users for advertising
- sell or share personal data
- use data for analytics or profiling
- collect data when not required for functionality
3. Data Sharing
PinPulse shares data only with the server endpoint defined by the user.
We do not:
- share data with third parties
- use advertising SDKs
- integrate analytics or tracking services
Any data processing performed by your server is governed by your own privacy practices.
4. Data Storage & Retention
- Location data is not permanently stored by the app.
- Data retention depends entirely on the server endpoint you configure.
- Local app settings are stored on your device.
5. User Control & Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Enable or disable location sharing at any time
- Remove your pin from the map manually
- Stop background location updates
- Uninstall the app to remove local data
6. Permissions
PinPulse may request the following permissions:
- Location (Foreground and Background) – to send location updates when enabled
- Internet – to communicate with your configured server endpoint
Permissions are used only for their intended purpose.
7. Children’s Privacy
PinPulse is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data by minimizing collection and avoiding third-party trackers. However, data transmission security also depends on the server endpoint you configure.
